Concerned Students Norway is a network for students interested in climate and environmental issues. The network is based on the idea that all individuals and all disciplines have a role in the development and creation of a more sustainable society.
We demand that the educational institutions focus on climate and environmental issues, both in teaching, researching and operation. We want our future employers to take responsibility for local and global environmental issues. We want to cooperate across disciplines and different specializations so as to be better prepared to meet the world’s biggest challenge.
IPCC’s reports and main conclusions are the basis of our work.
Concerned Students is the student equivalent to Concerned Scientists Norway, an association of researchers with a common desire to contribute to a more sustainable society.

Climate change does not respect border; it does not respect who you are – rich and poor, small and big. Therefore, this is what we call ‘global challenges,’ which require global solidarity.

There is an urgent need to stop subsidizing the fossil fuel industry, dramatically reduce wasted energy, and significantly shift our power supplies from oil, coal, and natural gas to wind, solar, geothermal, and other renewable energy sources.

How is it that, in the face of overwhelming scientific evidence, there are still some who would deny the dangers of climate change? Not surprisingly, the loudest voices are not scientific, and it is remarkable how many economists, lawyers, journalists and politicians set themselves up as experts on the science.

As human beings, we are vulnerable to confusing the unprecedented with the improbable. In our everyday experience, if something has never happened before, we are generally safe in assuming it is not going to happen in the future, but the exceptions can kill you and climate change is one of those exceptions.
